Actions of Hmong Migration to the U.S.
The Hmong migrated to Thailand in hopes of escaping the North Vietnamese, and migrated the the U.S as refugees. Getting to Thailand was not easy, some kids had to drugged so they wouldn't cry or make noise and some even died of over-dose. To get to Thailand they had to cross the Mekong River. Many Hmong drowned because they couldn't swim, especially children. Sometimes the Thai farmers along the river would strip the dead bodies of the gold and silver then dump them back into the river.
